About izzyshare
Mission
Inspire educators to provide the best possible learning environments for students.
What is izzyshare?
Our website is designed to showcase your hard work while providing an idea generator for you and thousands of moms, dads, and teachers just like you! izzyshare is a social network of educators that are searching for better, new, and fun ways to translate design into learning for students. Use the site to find friends from your own school or across the world. Gather ideas from other users by adding their photos to your idea book and upload your own photos to contribute to the growing community!
Have a question about ESL or a Daily 5 Center? Enter keywords ‘ESL’ or ‘Daily 5’ into the search box to find related images or other members that are interested in the topic. Need an idea for a 4th grade spring themed bulletin board based on fractions? Then sort through our growing library of user submitted photos to find great ideas provided by users like betsymck!
Who are we?

We are a husband and wife team who understands you. For instance, we know that teachers can't bear the familiar comment of “It must be nice working 8 to 3 and having summers off!” (You are grinding your teeth just reading this aren’t you?) And stay at home parents, probably want to scream when they hear “It must be nice not having to work.” Chances are, you are looking at this website to gather ideas while your child is snoozing or you just got home from teaching all day and are planning tomorrows activities. No, we are not spying on you. We just know how it is!
Ashlee- Founder and Editor of izzyshare.com
Ashlee was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia and attended college at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. Ashlee has always had a love for interior design and it was only natural that she carried that love into her classroom. After growing tired of searching for classroom decorating ideas on-line, that would have her all over the place, she started thinking that there should be one website to visit that was full of classroom pictures to gain ideas from. That's when the idea of izzyshare became to form.
Mark- Founder and Editor of izzyshare.com
Mark was also born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia and attended college at Marshall University where he graduated with a BA in Marketing. After college he and Ashlee were married and Mark began working on his career in the corporate world. Realizing there wasn't a website fully dedicated to classroom design, Mark and Ashlee sat down and discussed starting izzyshare.com. Mark has been an integral part in the growth of izzyshare since the beginning.
Why we developed izzyshare?
After more than 3 years looking for a site like this, we came to the conclusion that there wasn’t one dedicated to learning environments with pictures from real people. So we created it! Students spend so much of their times in classrooms, lets give them the best possible learning environment!
What is the history of the site?
As an elementary school teacher, Ashlee brought the idea to life by creating the first version of the site that was launched in February 2010 under the name GradeMyClassroom.com. Teachers were enthusiastic about the idea and used the site regularly. After building a membership that exceeded the sites capability, Ashlee and the rest of the team worked on the evolution of the site by completely redesigning the website, adding features, and including home learning spaces as well as classrooms.
The changes warranted a new name, look, and style so izzyshare was born! The new site is what you see today and includes most all of the requested changes by our early users. We are proud to say that we are the first social network based on photo sharing for learning environments.
